"TAKE ME HOME, COUNTRY ROADS"

Hello everyone,

I am singing "TAKE ME HOME, COUNTRY ROADS"! lol.... Home Sweet Home, here we come!!! The days are just dragging by. We are so anxious to get home. Only two more days and we will be in our house and visiting our friends. It has been a long seven months away from our home. We are so very happy that we made the decision to come to Texas. I feel that I had the best treatment at the #1 Cancer Hospital in the U.S. God led me here for a reason and I hope I fulfilled my duty for him.

We are doing the final packing and cleaning today and tomorrow. Larry delivered April's furniture and kitchen accessories to her today. The apartment complex gave us a cleaning list that they require to be done before you receive your deposit. I hope we are able to clean and satisfy them. It would be nice to get our deposit back and use it for the next trip to Texas in June for checkups.

Hailey had her last soccer game today. She played like a pro! I was so proud of her and I think I lost my voice from screaming. Go Mexico! That is her team name. They won 1-0! One of the moms from the other team asked, who is that red head? My mom over heard her asking one of our team moms. When they told her Hailey, she said, "she is kicking butt! I think she played really hard because it was her last game. I hope to be able to put her on a soccer team at home. It was really sad when all the girls hugged Hailey and was telling her how much they would miss her. Each one of them made her a card and the coach gave her a gift. She will definitely miss them.

As the days are winding down, we are talking about all the good times we have had in Texas. It isn't home, but it has been nice under the circumstances. We will miss the great weather in the winter. There is a few people that I will miss. My neighbors have become such good friends of ours. I have invited them to come and stay with us when they take their vacation. I hope that I have said or did something to help them follow Jesus. I have tried to be a good Christian example to them.

Please keep praying that I will always have the total healing. Also pray for our safe return.

Thank you all for your prayers and support! God Bless!

Stay Godstrong!!!

Tami,

I found your wonderful, encouraging blog today. Thanks for all the good work you're doing with it.

I've got a similar blog - "A Pastor's Cancer Diary" - which can be found at:

http://cewilton.blogspot.com/

I hope you don't mind that I've put a link to your blog on my own. I've got a few other links to similar blogs there, as well, if you want to click on over and take a look.

Hang in there - it's a tough road we're walking, but with God's help we don't walk alone (as you well know).

Carl

Well, you'll be home tomorrow. I can't believe it. It is finally here. Your story has reached so many people, and your witness has helped others grow in Christ and in the knowledge that He is just the same today! I am so excited when I see people blog on here that we don't know, but that God has led to your sight. Some day when you get to heaven (70 years from now or more) it will be wonderful for you to hear from all the souls you have touched through your journey. We will be praying for your safe trip home. I'll be here waiting for you! Love ya!

Hi, Tami!

I was smiling the whole time I read your entry! Yay!! Almost Home! I'm so happy for you, and for all of us who have been praying for you and following your blog. So many time we wonder why bad things happen to good people. Well, God had a plan that was so much better than anything we could have imagined. You helped all of us renew our faith, you brought God's word to so many people in Texas (and around the world) and above all you were HEALED. There's a bunch of happy people in the world right now, celebrating with you! I'm sorry you had to go through the hard times, but I'm so glad you shared them with us, and the happy times, too.

Yay, Tami!
And hooray for your family for supporting you so well!!

Love,
Sarah

As far as stuff we need for the picnic..

I think Tami has some volunteers for paper products..I will check with her again on that..

Condiments-I dont have anyone bringing them so far..

Sodas-needed
Bags of chips-needed

A cake would be nice if anyone wants to volunteer for that..

Anything anyone can bring would be helpful..

Iam providing the hot dogs and hamburgers..

Any other ideas or suggestions is greatly appreciated...

Larry has two grills so I think we are set with that..

Thanks,
Denise

P.S. Talking with Tami the head count is between 50-60 people.

Do you Tami, or any of your bog reading peoples knit? I found a blog by a woman named Cynthia who is currently coordinating a project to make blankets square by square for children cancer patients in her hometown. The project is called Warming Grace because it came out of wanting to do something for Cynthia's niece Grace. Here is her blog:

It is also her personal blog so you may have to scroll down to find the posts on Warming Grace.
